From 11 am – 3 pm, enjoy an array of activities at the Little Black Pearl Art and Design Center. Have your picture taken with friends, family or that special someone. Design your own customized mug or T-shirt. There will be food demonstrations and tastings to promote healthy living. Experience an introduction to batik art, a form of painting introduced to East Africa in the 1960’s, with artists from Modern Batik Art Guild. Registration will be available to become Little Black Pearl volunteers, sponsors and partners.
Sign up for Little Black Pearl youth program Arts=Smarts. This innovative arts program offers youth ages 11 – 18 a curriculum that introduces youth to the “business of art” while focusing on integrated disciplines such as painting and drawing, pottery/ceramics, multi-media and performance arts.
Find out “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” in the panel discussion about HIV/AIDS moderated by Charles Leonard from 3 – 5 pm. The panel will discuss the importance of partners knowing and sharing their HIV status in relationships.
