Facility Maintenance Assistant/ Event Staff:


STATUS:  Temporary event worker (on call as needed)


·      Exceptional customer service with verbal and written communication. Greet customers in a professional manner and support the customer throughout their event addressing any issues/ needs in the absence of Event Manager.

·      Perform tasks and duties in custodial and maintenance

·      Completes event set up following instructions provided by event manager and customer.  

·      Monitor restrooms and public areas during events and ensure that stock levels and cleanliness are maintained to the highest standards at all times

·      Perform general housekeeping functions which consist of cleaning the facility general areas, classrooms, event space, café, restrooms, concourses, and exterior areas.

·      Participate in the organization's commitment to safety by ensuring that floors are free and clear from slip hazards during events. Use appropriate safety signage and mops floors as required

·      Monitor and empty trash/recycling containers during events

·      Maintain the exterior of the facility sweeping, shoveling snow, and emptying trash/recycling containers to maintain appropriate cleanliness standards

·      Perform event set-up/ breakdown including furniture, staging, athletic equipment, A/V, etc. and space is restored for normal daily operation. 

·      Organize and maintain all storage areas

·      Assist in studio organization and maintenance

·      Learn and adhere to chemical uses, applications and safety

·      Maintain and repair tools and equipment

·      Implement daily and periodic custodial and maintenance schedule

·      Proactive ability to perform tasks, duties and responsibilities

·      Learn and adhere to all organizational policies, processes and procedures

·      Maintain schedule in performing tasks, duties and responsibilities

·      Report to special events manager during events

·      Proactively seek tasks and duties to schedule and perform

·      Maintain tool and supply inventories/ submit Inventory requisition for restocking to facility staff/ Operations Director

·      Assist, on occasion, with repairs, production and installations

·      Learn and apply management skills and techniques

·      Perform in a timely efficient manner

·      Follow instructions and asks questions when clarification is needed

·      Perform with a sense of attention to detail

·      Perform with a sense of excellence

·      Being punctual and dependable

·      Immediately report any injury, theft, property loss, damage, or destruction, repairs, etc.

·      Become familiar with mechanical systems and maintenance requirement

·      Maintain files, inventories, reports and schedules

·      Various other duties as required

Education Requirements  

·      High School Diploma/GED

Certification Requirements  

·      Valid state identification

·      A background check is required for this position. 


·      This is an “on-call” temporary position. Employees are in a “pool” and will be called for work as needed

·       Punctual and able to follow a set schedule

·      Ability to perform the following physical tasks: stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk and stand for 6 to 8 hours

·      Ability to provide excellent customer service in accordance with the Little Black Pearl expectations and culture

·      Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis

·      Demonstrated ability to address and resolve conflict including, but not limited to, verbal and physical tactics

·      Demonstrated ability to disseminate and communicate unique personal interactions

·      Demonstrated verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to effectively adapt to a work environment that is in constant change

·      Must be able to work nontraditional hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
