Hand-building in Clay: 5-Week Workshop Tuesday Evenings | 6 PM – 9 PM Dates: July 14, 21, 28, Aug 4, 11 Skill Level: Beginner / Intermediate Capacity: 4 (minimum) – 12 participants This five-week ceramics workshop focuses on expressive hand-building techniques to create small sculptural pieces or functional pottery forms. Over the first four weeks, participants will explore methods such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction to build unique and personal works of art. The final session will be dedicated to glazing and finishing. Designed for beginners and those with some clay experience, this class offers an in-depth look at the creative possibilities of hand-building, with an emphasis on experimentation and individual expression. Your registration includes instruction, one clay allotment, use of studio equipment and tools, glazing, and participation in scheduled kiln firings. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for working with clay. Please Note: A minimum of four participants is required for the class to run. If the minimum is not met, a full refund will be issued. Late registration is accepted through the second week of the workshop. Make the most of your ceramics experience with optional studio enhancements available during registration or throughout your course. Open Studio Practice Pass (Optional) Continue developing your skills outside of class with one additional Open Studio session each week (up to 3 hours per session). 5-Week Course: +$50 Open Studio time must be reserved in advance and is valid only during the active course. Unused weekly sessions do not roll over. Clay Refill Need more clay? Purchase an additional class-sized clay allotment for $15 anytime during your course.
